Mr. Manfred Werfel is Research Director and deputy CEO of IFRA, Darmstadt. He is a specialist in reproduction and prepress applications, as well as in colour management and printing standardisation in newspaper environments. Mr. Werfel heads a department with research specialsts in different areas of expertise, from publishing systems to ink and paper.

Manfred Werfel is a member of the iarigai Board since 2003 and was elected as the Vice president in 2007.
